Answer: C.
Options A and B have the incorrect alcohol to carboxylic acid
combination.
The ester in the question requires a simple carboxylic acid and a
complex alcohol whereas options A and B give the opposite.
Option D has the
methyl group attached to the incorrect carbon thus is eliminated leaving option
C as the correct answer.
